Built in the 19th century for the Austrian Empress Sisi, the Pompeian-style Achilleion Palace is surrounded by magnificent gardens with statues from Greek mythology and offers a wide view over the island as far as the mainland.

From the Kanoni viewpoint you can see two of the island's most photographed subjects: the tiny Vlacherna Monastery on an islet right by the shore, and the wooded Mouse Island (Pontikonisi), reachable by boat in a few minutes.

From the turquoise bay of Paleokastritsa with its cliffs and caves to the famous sunset beach of Logas, Corfu's coast offers a varied mix of rocky coves, sandy beaches and small fishing villages.
