The largest and best-known of the Durmitor glacial lakes, surrounded by dense coniferous forest, lies just a few minutes' walk from the mountain town of Žabljak and can be circled on a well-developed loop trail in about an hour, its mirror-smooth surface reflecting the surrounding peaks.

The second-deepest canyon in the world offers rafting tours on the turquoise Tara River through spectacular rock walls up to 1,300 meters high, past rapids of varying difficulty, an adventure amid untouched nature.

The highest peak of the Durmitor massif can be climbed on a demanding day hike from Žabljak and rewards with a magnificent panoramic view over the entire mountain range and as far as neighboring Bosnia and Serbia.
