Question 1

How do I get to Ngapali?

The small Thandwe Airport lies only about 7 kilometers from the beach and is served multiple times daily from Yangon in about one hour flight time, the only practical connection, since the road from Yangon takes more than 12 hours.

Question 2

Why is Ngapali considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia?

Accepted Answer

The several-kilometer, powder-white sandy beach on the Bay of Bengal ranks among the most unspoiled and quietest beaches in Southeast Asia, with gently swaying palms and a modest number of resorts that have so far seen little mass tourism.

Question 3

What can you experience in the fishing villages around Ngapali?

Accepted Answer

In the small, authentic villages along the coast, fishermen still traditionally go out with outrigger boats and dry their catch on bamboo racks on the beach, an authentic glimpse into simple coastal life away from the resorts.

Question 4

Sunset by the sea

Accepted Answer

Its location on the west coast makes Ngapali one of the best places in Myanmar to enjoy the sunset directly over the Bay of Bengal, often accompanied by a cocktail at one of the simple beach bars by the water.
