Wild pigs live on the uninhabited Big Major Cay and swim straight out to anchored boats — one of the most unusual and most-photographed experiences in the entire Caribbean.

This partially flooded cave served as a filming location for a James Bond movie and is excellent for snorkeling at low tide, when sunbeams stream through openings in the cave ceiling.

This protected marine reserve covers over 175 square kilometers of pristine cays with powder-white beaches, crystal-clear water and a rich underwater world far from mass tourism.

Exuma's main town is known for the annual Family Island Regatta, a traditional sailing race with native boats, as well as being the starting point for boat excursions to the offshore cays.

George Town Airport is served directly from Nassau as well as with some direct flights from Florida; the flight from Nassau takes only about 30 minutes.

December to April is best for dry, sunny weather outside the hurricane season in late summer and fall.
