This UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises several well-preserved colonial buildings from the 17th-century Jesuit mission, including the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús with its striking cedarwood ceiling.

Founded in 1613, the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba is Argentina's oldest university and still shapes the lively student cityscape today with countless cafés and cultural events.

The gentle mountains just a short drive outside the city offer hiking opportunities, small colonial villages and refreshing rivers — a popular excursion destination for locals.

Thanks to its large student population, Córdoba ranks among Argentina's most vibrant nightlife cities, with numerous bars, live music clubs and traditional peña folk music evenings.

Direct flights connect Buenos Aires to Córdoba in about 1.5 hours. The city also has its own international airport with some connections abroad.

Spanish is the official language, spoken with the characteristic singing Córdoba accent (tonada cordobesa). English is somewhat understood in tourist areas.

March to May and September to November are best for pleasant temperatures for sightseeing and excursions into the Sierras.
